Reference : Dormeuil.com Fashion Website : Flash front-end with a Drupal Back End
Last year, we’ve pitched and won the Dormeuil web project, with our idea to make a great Drupal sustainable website serving content to a full flash front-end. The result works great, every asset of the Flash front-end really has it’s counterpart in the Drupal backoffice. Our client is pleased to hav the real keys of his website without losing fullscreen features and animations. Also, we used the main feature, the catalog, as the startpage of the website, so you don’t waste your time clicking around for no reason. I did the design for the front-end and application design for the back end.
This project has been developed with Morgan Legal (Flash, Pole Nord Studio) and Sebastien Atoch (Drupal, Montreal QC).

Talented senior developper Renan Jegouzo and I have created the Aestesis Company and started a mobile applications business. The aim is to provide end users applications as well as business-to-business opportunities.
Our first app runs on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. It’s called Lo-Mob. It has ranked 3 in the top Photography apps on the US Store and we were featured as number one in What’s Hot USA for two consecutive weeks.
You can check the application on the iTunes AppStore here.

Want a peak at what the application results are? Check the Flickr Pool, thouthands of pics have been posted there.

DarQroom Print section is live
Finally you can setup your own Classic Pro or Fine Art print by yourself on DarQroom with what I think is a great and gorgeous tool. This has been the most difficult part to design on DarQroom and many people had to give their input, visions and ideas. Three different tools were designed since the beginning of the project, the two first were too complicated.

Sister has a (new) blog! And a new domain, and it’s live, with Wordpress
My talented sister had a blog on Blogger. As cool as Blogger can be, there’s a moment when you need a bit more, you want your own domain without leaving your registrar, you want amazing stats with Analytics, you don’t want to be restricted for the layout… So I moved her to my dedicated pro server and put the whole thing under Wordpress.
Wordpress is amazing, still. Retrieving of the old content, including categories, tags and comments, was flawless. Layout setup has been a piece of cake. Akismet setup and basic needed plugins, installed in a snap. And I finally got to test my Typekit demo account on this project, so the blog displays some @font-face nice fonts from Typekit without the need of Cufont or Fl-/Sifr.
And voilà! A web project that comes with already made quality content is way more motivatiing than having to do the same with nothing, placeholders or latin crap… if clients were aware of the much better quality they would obtain by crating real content, massive content by advance, as we request, they won’t hesitate to do so, never… and actually, it’s never the case.
Thanks to Santu for (always) helping me on managing domains, subdomains and users on my server, and for not yelling at me when I cry for help after missing not less than a digit in the DNS setup (lame, shame).

Drupalcon just ended, it was in Paris, France, this time, and Open Web Solutions was a gold sponsor of the event. They’ve offered every attendee a cool frisbee, made with one of my designs. I also designed their business cards for the occasion.
